There is no substitute for good communications.

Whether you’re doing math, writing an e-mail, or talking to a loved one, take the time to say it right — even when Tweeting!

This week we saw an example of how leaving out spaces in a Tweet could result in miscommunications on a grand scale.

Someone Tweeted: didyouhearthatcherisdead

This can be read two ways, and went viral.

Did you hear Thatcher is dead?

or,

Did you hear that Cher is dead?

The message here is that while this was a relatively harmless error, in our day of instant communications and snap judgements, we are all vulnerable to the risks associated with colossal miscommunications.  Let us all do our part to say it right, and not pass along anything unless we have read it in full and understand all of the implications.
